These fun, friendly and dynamic classes - open to men, women, young and old -
are the ideal introduction to the power, expression and complexity of Flamenco:
you will learn quickly and easily to dance in Flamenco style to the driving
rhythm of Spanish Gypsy music.
£8 per class / £45 reduced price advance payment for 6 weeks (=
half the course).
PLUS £1 day’s membership pass to Expressions Studios, payable weekly at
Reception.

Flamenco Dance

Beginners welcome, as well as those with up to a year’s experience in
Flamenco Dance. Basic technique and co-ordination exercises (including castañets)
lead on to dance and footwork sequences. These friendly and dynamic classes -
open to men, women, young and old – take place in a delightful dance studio,
home of many classes and Fiestas in the heart of the West End.
£13 per class / £70 for 6 weeks advance payment.

Flamenco Dance Intermediate Level
Saturdays 2.30pm to 4.30pm.
Classes start 14 January 2012.
Technical warm-up exercises, including footwork, arms & wrists, lead to a
beautiful and powerful Soleá choreography, with focus on style and expression. A
Tientos dance will also be taught for students to experience a style of flamenco
dance that contrasts with the style of the Soleá choreography.

In this fun and dynamic course you will learn fundamental flamenco dance
moves, steps and rhythms in an energising and supportive atmosphere. Experience
the rich complexity of this Andalucian Gypsy art form and develop presence,
fitness and co-ordination. (This course involves home practice and requires one
short written assignment per term).

Flamenco Andalucia Level 1
Thursdays, 1.20pm to 2.50pm.
One year course
Spring Term 12 January – 29 March 2012 (12 weeks). Course code DD051.
TERM 2 – FAST BEGINNERS / IMPROVERS
This lively and practical course progresses over three terms from beginner to elementary level and covers fundamental steps, style, rhythms and choreography (por Tangos-Rumbas Flamencos). Develop your co-ordination, stamina, poise and appreciation of flamenco culture, with live guitar accompaniment and end of term performances. (This course involves home practice and requires one short written assignment per term).

Flamenco Andalucia Level 2
Thursdays 2.50pm to 4.20pm.
One year course
Spring Term 12 January – 29 March 2012 (12 weeks). *Course code DD059.
TERM 2 - ELEMENTARY
This intensive course progresses over three terms from Lower to Upper Elementary level and covers further technique and choreography (por Alegrías) with live guitar accompaniment and performance opportunities. Students will develop confidence, expression, style and panache! (This course involves home practice and requires one short written assignment per term).

INTERMEDIATE
In flamenco dance it is not enough to perform the steps: flamenco demands
that we offer our authentic selves to our audience, with generosity and courage,
and with a genuine connection to the music and singing. This short, intensive
course will develop your confidence, creativity and performance skills in flamenco dance.
There will be a small
additional fee for the guitarist.
